Private business finance

Capital, structured
with precision.

Hollis Bay Capital arranges financing for established private businesses. We read a company the way an investor would, then structure terms around what we find.

Our story

The gap.

Most private businesses are financed one of two ways: slowly, by banks built for larger borrowers, or quickly, by lenders who price risk by formula. Neither reads the business itself.

Between them sit a great many sound companies. Profitable, growing and underserved.

The name.

A bay is where vessels are readied for open water: provisioned, repaired, set on a course. We chose the name for the role we mean to play.

A calm, considered place to prepare for the next voyage.

The practice.

Hollis Bay Capital was built to close that gap. We do the reading, then take the business to the funding partners whose terms fit it.

The work is advisory first. Capital follows.

Our approach

Sound capital decisions start with a full picture of the business. Every engagement begins there, and ends with a structure built around how the company earns.

Discipline

Analysis to the standard a large borrower would expect, applied to companies that rarely receive it.

Precision

Terms, amounts and repayment shaped to real cash flow, not to a generic product sheet.

Partnership

One person who knows the business, from the first conversation through every financing that follows.

Solutions

What we arrange,
and when each structure fits.

Working Capital

Capital for payroll, inventory and the seasonal cycle, sized to the gap it covers and repaid as the cycle turns.

Revenue-Based Financing

An advance against future receipts, repaid as a share of sales rather than on a fixed calendar. Fast, and priced for it.

Equipment Finance

Acquire or refinance the machinery, vehicles and technology that drive production.

Lines of Credit

Revolving capital, drawn when needed and paid down as receivables come in. Interest on what is used, not on what is available.

SBA & Term Lending

Longer-dated, lower-cost structures for expansion, real estate and refinancing, for businesses with the record and the time to qualify.

Growth & Acquisition

Capital for new locations, contracts and acquisitions, structured around the opportunity.

Platform

What the statements say, and what they mean.

Our analytics read a company's banking activity line by line: the consistency of its revenue, its obligations, its seasonality, its trend. Our team turns that picture into a proposed structure and takes it to the funders most likely to approve it, with their questions already answered.

  • Cash-flow analysis

Statements read in full, by our models and by our team, show what a credit score cannot.

  • Fewer questions, sooner

A complete file at first pass means fewer requests from funders and a shorter wait for terms.

  • Held in confidence

Documents sit under restricted access and go only to the funders you have agreed to approach.

Sectors

The industries
we know best.

Most of our clients are owner-operated or family businesses, from a single site to a multi-location group. Four sectors make up much of the work.

How we work

Four steps, no hand-offs.

  1. 01

    Conversation

We learn the business, its goals and what the capital is for.

  2. 02

    Analysis

We read the recent statements, by machine and by hand.

  3. 03

    Structure

We present the options side by side, with the full cost of each spelled out.

  4. 04

    Funding

Once terms are agreed, the funder closes and funds. We remain the point of contact for whatever follows.

The firm

Built for the second engagement, not the first.

Hollis Bay Capital is a small firm by design. The people who read the business are the people who structure the financing, and they stay with it. We would rather do that well for fewer companies than quickly for many.
